Old Mine Nature Park, near Uddingston in North Lanarkshire has received two highly commended awards from the Brownfield Briefing Awards 2013 in the Best Public Participation and the Best Redevelopment on a Brownfield Site categories. Old Mine Nature Park's development is a partnership between site owners North Lanarkshire Council and Forestry Commission Scotland.
The awards are for how the Council and the Commission have carried out the redevelopment work on the site, including public engagement around the naming competition of the park by local school children. The naming project was also shortlisted for an award at the Chartered Institute of Press Relations recent awards ceremony last month.
