The new 134-mile lowlands trail will officially open on 21st April 2014, during the first ever Scottish John Muir Festival, to mark both the conservationist’s birthday and the centenary of his death.

Native Woodland Survey of Scotland (NWSS)

After eight years of extensive research, Forestry Commission Scotland have launched the Native Woodland Survey of Scotland (NWSS). This survey is the most comprehensive of its kind ever carried out in the UK and one of the first of its kind in Europe.  Valuable data from the survey is now freely available to access and use for a wide range of applications.

Seven Lochs Wetland Park

Seven Lochs

The Heritage Lottery Fund allocated a £250,000 development grant for the planning of the Seven Lochs Wetland Park. The funding will enable Glasgow and Clyde Valley Green network Partnership to continue to develop the project and will support work on a second application for £4.2 million of HLF funding to deliver the Seven Lochs vision.
