Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink was launched on 12 November 2014, the Scottish Government initiative which is led by EventScotland and VisitScotland. The year-long celebration of Scotland’s natural larder is set to build upon momentum generated in 2014, increase and promote Scottish produce across the tourism sector and enhance Scotland’s global reputation as a Land of Food and Drink.
Although there is a focus on the Scottish food and drink and tourism industries, the initiative holds some potential to promote the 'grow your own' work being carried out in the CSGN area.
Also launched in November was Glasgow’s Green Year 2015, marking the city's year journey from Steam to Green. The Green Year celebrations will mark the huge strides Glasgow has made towards a greener future and the various sustainability projects which are in place.
