Play Scotland, in partnership with Play England, Play Wales and PlayBoard Northern Ireland, has published a new assessment tool which aims to foster a more balanced, thoughtful approach to risk management in children’s play and learning.

Commissioned and developed by the Play Safety Forum, the new tools are designed to support a balanced approach to risk management using the process of risk-benefit assessment (RBA). It is aimed at those involved in providing play opportunities in a range of contexts, including play areas, public parks, green spaces, out-of-school childcare settings, playwork settings, schools and early years services.
