Architecture and Design Scotland presents the “Materials Library – Material Considerations” exhibition on Level 2 of The Lighthouse, Glasgow.
The exhibition offers a unique opportunity for the visitors to meet, explore and analyse a wide range of sustainable building materials. The exhibition is closing on 21 February.
The purpose of the Library is to showcase sustainable, traditional and emerging low carbon building products in general and to promote and encourage innovation in construction in Scotland using indigenous resources. Supported by the Forestry Commission and the Scottish Government, it will give clients, architects, builders and students an opportunity to get hands on with a wide range of sustainable, traditional and emerging low carbon building materials – from slate through to sheep’s wool – while learning more about each material’s sustainability credentials.
The library supports Architecture and Design Scotland’s Sust. Programme’s promotion of innovation in construction in Scotland and the Scottish Government’s commitments to the development of a low carbon economy. The library also complements A+DS’s popular online resource – The Green Directory.
This free exhibition is open to the public Monday - Saturday 10:30-17:00.There is more information you can visit on the Architecture and Design Scotland website.
