The consultation on Scotland’s Rural Development Programme (SRDP) is now underway. The document sets out the Scottish Government’s final proposals on how it expects to use the European and domestic funds accessed through the SRDP, and how this will be aligned with other EU funds. This includes an outline of the schemes it proposes to run and an indication of the budget allocations for various priorities. The closing date for responses is 28 February 2014 and we would encourage all CSGN partners and delivery bodies/agents to put in a submission, especially in respect of sections 9, 10 and 14.
The document includes the intent to limit the number of annual applications that can be made by applicants. The document also sets out a specific proposal in respect of woodland creation in the CSGN area. We anticipate that the CSGN Woodland Expansion Steering Group will prepare and make available draft text which can be used by those wishing to make a response.
