greenbusiness

Over the past year the CSGN Support Unit has been talking to businesses across the Central Belt which are reaping rewards from investing in their green infrastructure. The findings are now being launched as a suite of case studies. These ‘Your Business, Your Greenspace’ reports demonstrate how enterprises of all sizes, from all sectors, can meet business objectives and targets whilst playing a key role in developing greenspace.

The first three ‘Your Business, Your Greenspace’ case studies are now available in a two page summary and four page full report format.

Environmental concerns were central to the development of Scotland’s largest and greenest water treatment works at Glencorse. Although some of the suggestions and changes requested through community engagement involved greater investment, this was considered money well spent - as it kept the build on track and under budget.

Oakwell Farm

OakwellNursery

The owners of Oakwell Farm re-examined their resources and realised that their land could be better used to increase profits. They created a thriving children’s nursery with outdoor areas that educate, interest and stimulate little minds. They also adopted sustainable technology and started to rent out an under-used field to a local allotment group. These steps have helped to maximise income and reduce operational costs.
