Scotland's first Land Use Strategy (LUS) was published in March 2011 and provides a framework for sustainable land use. An Action Plan was published in December 2011 setting out how the 13 Proposals in the Strategy would be delivered. This will be followed by the first annual Progress Statement this summer. The Scottish Government is hosting an event that will look at delivery of the LUS and the mainstreaming of the Principles for Sustainable Land Use into land use decision making.
The event will provide examples of current work to deliver the Land Use Strategy and assess progress, whilst also allowing you to comment on delivery of the LUS to date. The event will be held on the 27 June 2012, at SNH's conference facilities at Battleby. The Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Mr Stewart Stevenson MSP, is expected to provide the keynote speech.
