Project background

Carr-Gomm Scotland used a grant of £17,300 to create a new 1,200m2 community growing space at Lochend Quadrant in Edinburgh and to provide training, advice and support for local people to grow their own fruit and vegetables on the previously unused space. The Lochend 'Secret Garden' now contains 52 raised beds for individuals and 13 group beds which, collectively, enable around 330 people to get involved in growing their own fruit and vegetables.
