SNH's work is about caring for the natural heritage, enabling people to enjoy it, helping people to understand and appreciate it, and supporting those who manage it.   SNH has responsibility, along with FCS as joint lead partners, for the management and delivery of the Central Scotland Green Network ambitions on behalf of the Government.

Work Plan

This work plan, for the period 2010 – 2015, establishes the scope of the activities the CSGN Support Unit, SNH and FCS will undertake over the next five years.  The plan sets out detailed actions for Year One (October 2010 to September 2011) and lays out direction of travel for the subsequent four years through to 2015. The plan will be updated annually.

SNH is working in partnership with others to support delivery of the CSGN. Including developing proposals for a network of longer distance routes across the CSGN area,   supporting Local Authorities in incorporating green network aims, objectives and actions into their Strategic and Local Development Plans, providing advice and guidance on habitat networks and reviewing actions and priorities for landscape. SNH also funds numerous green network and community projects across the area through its grants programme and contributes to the CSGN Development Fund, which also supports project delivery.
